Yellow Chatters is a free language exchange community. We help people practice languages by meeting in real life — through tandem partnerships, local activities, and group events. We currently have groups in Brussels and Montreal.
Yes, Yellow Chatters is completely free to join and use. There are no hidden fees or premium plans.
Click "Join" in the top menu, fill in your profile (name, languages, city), and you're in. You can then join one or more local groups.
A tandem partner is someone who speaks the language you want to learn and wants to learn a language you speak. You practice together, helping each other. For example, if you speak French and want to learn English, you can pair up with someone who speaks English and wants to learn French.
Activities are places and things to do suggested by the community — like Museu Real de Belas Artes da Bélgica. They vary by city. You can browse them on your group's page under the Activities tab.
Events are organized group meetups — like conversation tables, social dinners, or outings. They are scheduled at a specific time and place. Check your group's Events tab to see upcoming ones.
We currently have groups in Brussels and Montreal. New cities are added regularly. If your city isn't listed yet, stay tuned!
Our members speak and learn many languages. The most common ones include French, English, German. You can set your native and learning languages in your profile, and we'll help you find the right partners.
Not at all. All levels are welcome — from complete beginners to fluent speakers. The point is to practice and improve together.
Yes! If you travel between cities or want to connect with people in different locations, you can join as many groups as you like.
Go to your group's Members tab, find someone you'd like to practice with, and click the message button on their card. You can then chat through our built-in messaging system.
We only collect the information needed to run the community (name, email, languages, city). We don't sell data or use tracking cookies. You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings.
